Healthy knees, a Chair Yoga Workshop on strengthening the knee. What is the largest joint in the body? What is the most replaced joint in the body? The knees win in both categories. With this complex hinge joint we will learn anatomy and movements that helps osteoarthritis, knee replacement, and  as well as the muscles of the legs. Chair Yoga Miniseries at Yoga Center Santa Cruz:  Thursdays in  September I am offering workshops with a focus. Each class will be informative and  a deeper dive into the joy of yoga. 

September 6:   Balance and the Bandhas: adding strength to your practice. 9:30am-10:30am at Yoga Center Santa Cruz.

September 13:  Pranayama and Meditation: breathing exercises plus learning the art of movement with breath awareness. The class will end with a guided meditation to still the mind. 9:30am-10:30am at Yoga Center Santa Cruz.

September 20: Shoulders and Neck: finding alignment and ease in the upper body. Posture is key to feeling good. 9:30am-10:30am at Yoga Center Santa Cruz.

September 27: Happy Hips: moving the large muscles in and around the pelvis to release tension and discomfort in the hip. 9:30am-10:30am at Yoga Center Santa Cruz.

The Posture Project 2: A Chair Yoga Workshop: Join me Saturday, Sept. 16th, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Grey Bears for more work on posture and alignment. We will cover in detail the structure of the shoulder and neck as they relate to the diaphragm and breath. It is fun and informative. Be prepared to take a deep breath! All are welcome. Getting down to the Core, a Chair Yoga Workshop on the Ilio-Psoas Muscle: Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Grey Bears. Better Balance Workshop, Chair Yoga at Temple Beth El:  Monday, November 13, 2017 from 2:00-3:30pm.  Senior Connections. There are three things we tend to loose with age; our muscle strength, our vision and our ability to walk and stand with confidence. Balance is directly related to our eye site and maintaining strong leg muscles. Please join Suzi Mahler in this informative Chair Yoga Workshop and learn ways to increase balance and strength with simple movements, postural awareness, breathing exercises and meditation. Better Balance: A Chair Yoga Workshop at Yoga Center Santa Cruz :  On Saturday, June 9, I will be offering a chair yoga workshop "Better Balance" from 10:30-12:00pm at Yoga Center Santa Cruz. Most falls happen in the home. This class will focus on how to avoid falls by increasing stability and strength in the legs and torso. Also, learn a few practical tips to reduce your chances of a serious fall.
